Dan Jeup

Bit by the animation bug at age three, Dan Jeup has been obsessed with drawing and filmmaking ever since.  In his early teens he made his first character animation film that caught the eye of Disney animator/director Eric Larson — one of Walt’s legendary “Nine Old Men” — who became Dan’s mentor.  Accepted into the California Institute of the Arts Character Animation Program in the ninth grade, Dan did just that.  He continued his training with Disney master animators Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston.  His credits include, among many others:

  • Finding Nemo, story supervisor
  • Toy Story 2, story supervisor
  • The Little Mermaid, animator, Sebastian the Crab
  • Beauty and the Beast, story development
