Ken Alvine, a graduate of the Colorado Institute of Art and the University of Washington, has worked professionaly in the fields of Advertising and Cartooning since 1964. He worked for, and with, many national corporations developing marketing programs and corporate images. Ken started a full service Advertising Agency in 1978, where he developed many cartoon projects for his clients. He created his company, Creative Comics, to develop and create cartoon properties such as comic strips, educational books, videos and other cartoon properties. Presently, Ken writes and illustrates Children’s Safety Books for the State of South Dakota and creates cartoon spokesmen for companies. He has been a full member of the National Cartoonists Society since 1989.
Ken also has taught Advertising and Cartooning on a post high level and was an Artist in Residence for South Dakota for many years. In addition, Ken was co- owner of Karts West which became Wild Water West, a large Family Amusement Park . Ken is married to Judy Alvine and has two daughters and 4 grandchildren.
